Complete required paper checks
Disclosure of Interests
Add this section just before the references.
If you have no competing interests, use:
“The authors have no competing interests to declare that are relevant to the content of this article.”
Otherwise, list all relevant financial and non-financial interests.
Ethics & consent
Needed only if your work involves people, animals, personal data, or biological material:
- Ethics committee name
- Approval / reference number (if any)
- Informed consent to participate
- Consent to publish identifiable images/info (if any)
Figures, tables & equations
- Number and cite every figure and table in the text
- Figure captions go below; table captions go above
- Keep tables and equations editable (not images)
- Figures must be clear in grayscale
- Line drawings: at least 800 dpi (prefer 1200 dpi)
- Text inside figures: at least 6 pt
- No color in text, tables, or equations
Alternative text
Write alt text for every figure/image and put it in a file named Alt-Text.txt
(label each item clearly, e.g. “Figure 1: …”).
References
- Use numbered citations like [1] or [2–4]
- Every citation must appear in the reference list
- Every reference must be cited in the paper
- Use the Latin alphabet; include DOIs when available
Permissions
Get written permission for any third-party material you reuse
(figures, tables, photos, screenshots, maps, text extracts, videos).
Online material is not automatically free to reuse. Include permission documents in your package.
Publication ethics
- Original work only — no plagiarism or self-plagiarism
- Honest results — no fabrication or inappropriate manipulation
- Cite related work and explain any overlap with prior publications
- List only real authors with substantial scholarly contributions
- Follow the Springer Nature AI policy
AI tools cannot be listed as authors.
